Some Recent Pictures...

Truman's 10th Birthday. He got an i-pod and was sooo...excited. I don't even think he noticed his other presents!

Odd how much Truman and beck look alike. I took this picture because Truman and Grace were both walking around with the babies at the same time. They sure do love to entertain them...and the babies love it too!

I'm not sure who is going to be the 'smilier' girl! Do you think London looks surprised?

Truman and his best friend. He is so sweet to Beck...he loves to feed him and carry him and always asks to get him out of bed so he can hold him first.

This is Jaxon with his new fish named Nemo. His idea.

The kids making Butter Toffee for our lesson on Faith during Family Home Evening. They didn't know what they were making, but they had the ingredients. All they had to do was obey every instruction I gave them and I promised them that they would end up with something really yummy. They did a great job and the Toffee was awesome!

Jaxon on Halloween...he's a monster. In this picture he's saying, "raaoooor!". He wore the costume the next day too...oh, and he carried his bucket of candy around the grocery store at the same time. He's funny.

Truman and Grace are in 5th and 3rd grades and doing very well. Jaxon is attending pre-school and speech classes, the babies are slowly demolishing our house (one 2x4 at a time) and Jennifer is busy keeping everyone happy! Scott is plugging away at school and seems to really enjoy it. We're getting our yard and house ready for the summer . . . and it's a LOT of work! Darn me and my green thumb! Perennials and topiaries do not make for low-maintenance yard work. I don't mind it though, really, and it lets the kids spend a lot of time outside with mom!

About the Roberts' Family

We are Scott, Jennifer, Truman, Grace, Jaxon, Beckham and London. Scott is a general contractor building custom residential homes for his own business. Work sometimes stresses him out, but he loves being home with his family, so I think that helps him to balance things. He loves sports on TV and you can almost always find him watching a game of some kind; even Nascar or boxing, he really doesn't care so long as it's a sport. Scott really enjoys fly fishing and says that his dream would be to live in the middle of a nowhere town, just fishing all day. On Saturdays you can find Scott coaching Truman's 4th grade football team. He love's being involved with the boys and says that it's been a good experience for him and Truman.

I'm Jennifer. I love and adore my 5 kids and feel extremely blessed to have been given the opportunity to be a mother. I only hope that I'm doing a good job. I truly enjoy surprising the kids with a new Family Home Evening lesson and activity each Monday night. I like to keep the topic from them until we start FHE because I know it drives them nuts. They bug me all day to tell them what we're doing...I love it. I studied piano performance in college and enjoy playing at my leisure, for myself or the kids... or whomever will listen. I love to scrapbook, do crafts, decorate my home and go to movies (especially with my 5 kids). I also love sports. I enjoy working out and wish I was young and fit again so I could play some organized sports! What happened to the time!? Mostly I just love my family...cooking for them, taking the kids out on outings, shopping with Grace, taking Truman out for mom/son dates, going for french fries and soda with Jaxon or strolling the babies around the mall. I've never felt so much joy and I truly count my blessings...every day.

Truman is in 4th grade and turned 10 in September. He loves football, basketball and baseball and also enjoys riding his bike and his skateboard. He got a dirt bike for Christmas last year and has recently been seen riding around the neighborhood with his best friend/neighbor, Austin. Truman is such a sweet boy. He smiles often and likes to tease me and see if he can get me to fall for his jokes. He also likes to tease Jaxon. He's often seen running from Jaxon as fast as he can just laughing and laughing...this is when I know he's been up to no good! Truman is exceptionally smart and does well in school. He actually says school is boring...maybe he's smarter than we think. One of his favorite hobbies is amphibians. He has a fire-bellied toad and another little frog that he loves. He also has a Dalmation Molly (fish) that just had babies. He's very excited and hopes they live to be big. Truman is active in the scouting program at church and has already earned his first few badges with the Webelos. He really likes his den leader and loves the boys in his pac. He's always laughing and joking around with the boys when I pick him up from scouts.

Grace is almost 8 and in the 2nd grade. Finally, finally, finally, Grace lost some teeth. Unfortunately for her, she lost them all at the same time! Her smile is a little goofy right now, but her big teeth are coming in and I know her smile will be beautiful. She is very involved in gymnastics and loves going to practice. She is in an invitation-only, pre-team group. She's very good and can be seen throughout the house doing cartwheels and round-offs everywhere she goes. Grace loves her brothers and sister and she and Truman often fight over who gets to feed or hold them. Recently Grace got to babysit Beckham and London while Dad, Truman and I worked out in the yard and she did such a great job. This is great training for her! Just a few more years and she'll get paid for it! Grace is the sweetest girl I know. She's kind and affectionate, loving but tough. She adores her dad and will go anywhere with me. She's becoming an excellent reader and is doing really well in school. Her dad and I are so proud of her progress and love to see her energy in all she does. Grace also enjoys doing crafts with me...you'd better believe that if I start something crafty (even baking), I'd better pull up an extra chair for her because she'll be begging to join me.

Jaxon is going on 2 1/2 and is every bit his age. He's a little hard to understand yet, but he sure knows what he's saying. He loves to watch cartoons and has especially been loving Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. He's such a sweet boy. He always gets up before me in the morning and when he sees me he yells "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy! Hi!!!" I love it. He'll run up to me and give me a great, big hug. I always see Scott in the background smiling real big. Jaxon loves airplanes and often flies around with his arms stretched out to his side while making airplane noises. He also has been into Thomas the Train and puts the tracks together on his own so he can drive his train around and around. Jaxon is a very smart boy. He's very good at figuring things out. He turns off lights when he leaves a room, he shuts doors behind him, he puts his toys away on his own when he sees me picking things up. He even sings the "Clean Up" song while he does it! He loads and unloads his DVD's in the DVD player and I never even taught him how. All of these things he's learned from observation. It's incredible to see him learn those things. Jaxon is in gymnastics just like his big sissy. He and I go on Saturday morning while Dad watches the babies. Dad loves the time to be with the babies and I love the time with Jaxon by myself. He's very strong and talks about Gymnastics all week. He loves it and I'm so glad to have him involved with a little class where he can meet kids his age.

Beckham will be 1 in February and is the happiest baby boy. He's always smiling and laughing about something. He talks to himself very loudly; I think just to hear himself talk! It's so cute. He loves to hold his own bottle and also enjoys eating crackers at his bar...that would be the high-chair bar. Beck is working on the "crawling" thing, but hasn't quite got it down yet. Oddly enough, Beck looks an awful lot like Truman! How's that for strange? Truman always says that Beck is his favorite because they are twins.

London will be 1 in May. She is the quietest, smiliest baby ever. She never cries about anything...just like her big sissy. She's is so chubby and lovable and we all just adore her. She's still learning to sit up, but she's sooo close! She loves food, also just like big sissy...and probably mom and dad too, and she actually grunts really loud in between bites!

Our family is very close. We have unintentionally developed many family traditions. Every Monday night we make brownies for FHE. We read scriptures and say prayer as a family every night and Dad has never skipped a night tucking the kids in bed. It's rare if they ask me to do it, but Dad just HAS to!! Scott is lucky enough to see the kids off to school nearly every morning and is almost always home when they get home from school. We are a family that tries to work hard and as parents, we try hard to teach the kids to find "value" in things so they'll appreciate the things that they have. The kids use money that they've earned through labor or good behavior (given in the form of marbles) to invest in a virtual investment account that pays interest each month. The kids then have the opportunity to cash out a percentage of their investment account each month (with a penalty of course) so they have spending money. This money is used by them to purchase anything they may want. Any luxuries they are afforded, they've earned and purchased on their own...even some of their clothes! Grace even buys her own gum! What I find amazing is that they don't always choose to cash out money...they've learned to like seeing their money grow in their investment account. We're so proud of them.
We try hard to teach the kids to work with us as a team in cleaning and taking care of one another. This big house doesn't get cleaned on it's own! The kids are all great helpers.
